Comb/finger coils, backcomb method, two/three strand twists, braids/plaits, Interlocking, instant locking, or loc (re)attachment.
When can I wash my starter locs?
you can wash them as soon as a week after starting your journey however I recommend you wait two weeks if possible.
How do I wash my starter locs? (For comb coils)
Use a stocking cap and massage residue free shampoo targeting your scalp area And not the actual locs as it’ll spread.
What should I be using to clean my locs?
Residue free shampoo, Cleansing shampoo.
Should I condition my locs?
NO. Condition detangles. Herbal rinses, hot oil treatments, 100% unprocessed Aloe Vera, ACV rinses, coconut milk, and natural based hair oils.
How much hair do I need to start locs?
You need between 2-3 inches of hair.
What is the best method to maintain straight hair textured locs?
Crochet is the safest and most effective method of grooming for a more tidy look, but interlocking would be best with regular palm roll Retwist in between.
How often should I interlock?
No more than four times a year.
What is the safest way to color locs?
Semi permanent hair dye. hair dye will eventually fade and can be removed easily with hair color removal kits.
How often should I get a Retwist?
If you need to look professional for work or your everyday life every 2 weeks would suit you. If you can afford to put effort into keeping your hair up in between Retwists you can wait every 3-4 weeks to retwist but you should wash your hair in between this time as well.

The truth is that finding the perfect product for your locs is like finding the perfect product for your natural curl pattern. It’s hard. The right product will hold you Retwist, allow your locs flexibility with hold and streghten them as well. Everyone has a product that works for them and doesn’t.
